Kevin Siers has been creating five editorial cartoons a week for The Charlotte Observer since 1987. His cartoons have appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, and USA Today. His work is distributed through The Best and the Wittiest, King Features’ weekly package of at least 25 timely and thought-provoking editorial cartoons, of varied styles and views, from Siers and other such award-winning editorial cartoonists as John Branch, Gary Brookins, Brian Duffy, David M. Hitch, Lee Judge,  Jeff Koterba, Jimmy Margulies, Rick McKee, Kevin Siers and Kirk Walters.

A Minnesota native, Siers began drawing editorial cartoons for his hometown community newspaper between shifts working in the local iron-ore mines.

While majoring in biology at the University of Minnesota, he became editorial cartoonist for The Minnesota Daily, and his work won top national awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.

His cartoons have appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, and USA Today.
